Tour starts at 10:00 am. Driver and a tour guide will pick you up from the hotel and Tbilisi walking tour starts from th old part of the city. Where you can feel the mixture of European and Asian culture. Our first stop will be at Metekhi church, right next to a huge statue of Vakhtan Gorgasali, who was the king of Iberia and a founder of Tbilisi. There is legend which says that one day king was hunting in the forest neat to Mtkheta ( which used to be a capital back then ) and after some time, he saw a pheasant which he shot and the bird was killed. The king sent his falcon to find the prey. Falcon flew away and after a while king wasn't able to find it. He started searching and somehow he ended up into the waters. The water turned to be hot. He was amazed with it and decided to found here a city, realizing a great advantage of that location. The word "Tbilisi" comes from the Georgian word "Tbili" which means "warm". After that we will continue our tour to the Abanotubani district, where you can see the sulfur bathes and waterfall in the middle of the city. After discovering the old part we will walk to the main Avenue of the city and have a lunch.
Drive back to the hotel.
Day 3 - Gori and Mtskheta tour
Our tour tour starts at 10:00 in the morning.
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel. Our initial destination is the Jvari Monastery, perched atop a mountain. Here, an introductory narrative unfolds about the region, accompanied by a breathtaking panorama overlooking the Armazi Mountains and the town of Mtskheta—the convergence point of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. This 6th-century early Christian masterpiece exemplifies the seamless integration of architecture and landscape.
We then journey towards Gori, a town situated at the heart of the Kartli region. Gori held strategic importance as a military stronghold in the Middle Ages. Nestled at the base of a sandstone hill is the medieval Fortress Tskhra-kara, known as "the Nine-gated." A brief stroll around the fortress precedes our visit to the J. Stalin museum. The museum tour, delving into the Soviet era, spans approximately 30 minutes. The museum comprises three components: the main building housing items related to Stalin's life, the house of his birth, and his personal railway carriage.
